Erlinde was born in Groningen, the Netherlands. The discovery of photography in her childhood influences her perception of the world and would eventually direct her art. After graduating from the Academy of Arts in Enschede and the AKI in 1999, she moved to ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the birthplace of the famous painter Hieronymus Bosch, where she continued her work as a painter and photographer with the human figure as the focus of her work. In Erlinde’s work, painting and photography are indissolubly connected with each other. She constantly searches for the right combination between these two media to draw in the viewer and have them lose themselves in the image. Her mix media images, named Under Construction, are created through a mix of different techniques and mediums and are inspired by the multiple facets of the human being. Objectivity and subjectivity confront each other and interact with the structure of the environment.
